The Concours Plan -- Classic Car Insurance

The Concours plan is meant for all makes and models of classic cars which are at least fifteen model years old (a model year's anniversary date is on October 1, not on January 1) and which have been restored to as-new or near-new condition.

Classic car insurance like this is more restrictive than our popular Limited Pleasure Use Plan. It is also very, very inexpensive, and eliminates Comprehensive and Collision deductibles (except in Texas, where those deductibles cost $5).

A multicar discount is also available regardless of which Select plan your other auto is insured under.

Plan Warranties

The covered auto must be used mainly for club activities, exhibits, parades, in a private collection or for occasional personal pleasure drives. Personal pleasure drives do not include general transportation, such as: running errands; trips to work, shopping malls and public golf courses; "Saturday nighting" etc., any of which may require leaving the covered auto unattended.

  • Annual Mileage: Annual mileage may not exceed option selected (1,000 or 3,000 miles).

  • Normal Driving: No coverage while driving to and from work, school, while being restored by a third party, or while using as a substitute vehicle.

  • Racing & Track Events: No coverage while using the covered auto for racing, gymkhanas, driving school, instructional courses or other track events.

  • Business Use: No coverage while the covered auto is used for any business or commercial use.

  • Coverage Suspension: All policy coverages are annual and may not be suspended in whole or part.

  • Parking: The covered auto may not be left unattended in open, unprotected parking areas (or at any airport or public parking lot or garage) at any time. The covered auto must ordinarily be parked overnight in a completely enclosed, locked garage accessible only to you or members of your immediate household, or in a continuously guarded lot. Should you change the covered auto's regular garage, coverage at the new garage is only afforded after it has been submitted for review and express written approval has been given for its use.  Should the covered auto be left at another location for sale, consignment, restoration or customization, no coverage is afforded. If the covered auto is away from your garage overnight for a Club-sponsored event or pleasure trip, it is expected special care and attention is paid to it.

  • Alterations: The auto may not be altered in any way from its original condition when new. Vehicles restored with original-type parts are acceptable.

Exceeding Your Annual Mileage Limit

Your annual mileage is reported and reviewed. If the annual mileage limit is exceeded, your policy may be non-renewed. However, if you are on the 1,000 mile plan there may be an alternative offered at our discretion: you may be bumped up to the 3,000 annual mile limit (or the 5,000 annual mile Limited Pleasure Use Plan limit) for the current year and the next.
