In 1989, after years of getting taken to the cleaners insuring a Porsche which he hardly ever drove and babied like a member of the family, our firm's owner decided there must be a better way. He deserved a break and so did others like him. Work began on the Select program.
In 1990, a survey of about 11,000 Porsche Club of America members yielded an amazing 50% response to the 60-plus question survey. Everybody pretty much said the same thing: "HELP!"
In 1991, after a lot more work (most insurance companies thought we were crazy), the Select Automobile Insurance Program became available to PCA members across the U.S.
In January of 1995, after consistently great results (we weren't crazy after all), an expanded program was unveiled open to all makes and models of collectible automobiles.
Working with exotic and rare automobiles on a daily basis makes working at Leland-West about as fun as insurance is likely to get. We hope our enthusiasm and expertise help make us the best choice for auto collectors and just plain auto nuts.
